Thanks to a new partnership between Ralph Lauren and Snap, Bitmoji has recently gotten a whole lot preppier. Snapchatters now have a bunch of classical Polo looks at their disposal to dress their virtual self. And of course the looks are also shoppable IRL.
Self-expression through Bitmoji
Alice Delahunt, Ralph Lauren chief digital officer, explains: “Bitmoji are important vehicles of self-expression in the digital and social space. As the world of digital avatars continues to accelerate, it’s interesting for us to test and learn how audiences respond to fashion in this space“. It’s the first time Ralph Lauren has created looks for the digital space. And according to Snap’s head of fashion and beauty Selby drummond it’s also the first time that a brand has designed garments starting with Bitmoji.
Twelve Ralph Lauren looks
So what are the looks all about? Obviously there are polo’s involved. The collection consists of 12 signature Polo looks, but the individual pieces can also be combined to your heart’s content. A few striking pieces include a rugby shirt, a double-breasted navy blazer and a racing jacket.
The new looks are available in the Snapchat app, but if you want to buy a matching outfit for yourself you’ll have to head over to the Ralph Lauren site.
It’s not the first time Snap has collaborated with a big fashion house. Earlier this year the company partnered up with Gucci to create filters that enable users to virtually try on Gucci sneakers. And speaking of Gucci and virtual experiences: the fashion house launched a new platform earlier this year to recreate the Gucci in-store experience wherever you might be.
