They say money doesn’t make you happy, but what really doesn’t make you happy is having to spend it on fines. Tesla has started rolling out an update to make sure your hard earned cash doesn’t go to unnecessary speed tickets.
Tesla camera’s on the lookout
The luxury car company recently released its 2020.36 software update with several new features to help you out on the road. One of the new features utilizes the car’s cameras to visually detect speed limit signs. “Speed Assist now leverages your car’s cameras to detect speed limit signs to improve the accuracy of speed limit data on local roads. Detected speed limit signs will be displayed in the driving visualization and used to set the associated Speed Limit Warning.” Now obviously Teslas could already warn you about speed limits. But it never huts to be as accurate as possible.
Green light chime
The new update brings another nice touch to the table. This time to speed things up. “A chime will play when the traffic light you are waiting for turns green. If you are waiting behind another car, the chime will play once the car advances unless Traffic-Aware Cruise Control or Autosteer is active When Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control is activated, a chime will play when you can confirm to proceed through a green traffic light. To enable, tap Controls > Autopilot > Green traffic Light Chime.”
Faster speed adjust
A third handy enhancement to the Tesla software makes sure you don’t waste any time adjusting the Traffic-Aware Cruise Control or Autosteer speed. Changing the set speed to the current speed now only takes a tap on the cluster speedometer. Previously drivers had to go through the hassle of scrolling on the steering wheel 😉
As we know Tesla pushes out its updates gradually. So you might not have the new features immediately. But then they also say “patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet“. Actually we don’t say that but the French do. So yeah, it might take a while for the new features to be rolled out to your car.
