As lockdowns all over the world are slowly being lifted, there will come a time when we’ll all have to head out to work again. And with that we’ll also have to face those meal drying microwaves again during lunchtime. Or not! Heatbox might just be able to save your lunch.
Steaming lunchbox
Heatbox is a modern lunchbox that goes the extra mile to feed you during your break. As the name would suggest, the box is equipped with heating powers. It uses steam technology to heat up your meal, which is a good way to preserve nutrients and flavor (unlike that microwave). Just add some water and press the button to heat up that glorious food.

App control
For the lunchbox to be able to do anything you obviously have to charge it. We’re not sure how long that takes, but once charged the thing should be able to heat up to three meals. How long it takes for those meals to be ready, depends on how big they are. A medium sized lunch should take about 10 minutes. And if you’re wondering, yes there’s also an app. Use it to choose one of the steaming programs (low, medium and high) or to give your lunch some extra heat.
Indiegogo project
The self-heating lunchbox is an Indiegogo project at the moment and can be preordered for 144 dollars (instead of 207 dollars). As usual you should always be cautious when it comes to crowdfunding projects. In this case the project has some 790 backers and has raised about 135,000 dollars. Should all go according to plan, the hot lunchbox should be shipped somewhere in August.
Of course you actually need something to warm up before you have any use for a self-heating lunchbox. Feeling uninspired? Why not try out this text bot. It knows just what to do with the ingredients you have.
