Although we don’t walk around with robotic clothing (yet), technology definitely has a hand in shaping the fashion industry. Want to know exactly how? Vogue Business has just launched a podcast to answer exactly that question.
The Tech Edit
The Vogue podcast is built off the company’s Technology Edit newsletter and has been coined The Tech Edit. It’s the first podcast by Vogue Business and according to the company it’s also the first podcast of its kind. Each episode will explore how a specific technology is influencing the future of fashion, luxury and retail.
Innovation editor Maghan Mcdowell will be talking to experts on the subject, such as global Tommy Hilfiger CEO Daniel Grieder, head of global product marketing of Snapchat’s camera and AR products Carolina Arguelles and Amber Slooten, the co-founder and creative director of digital fashion house The Fabricant.
Future of fashion
If you’re curious about The Tech Edit, there’s good news. The first episode “Introduction: What the Future Holds for Fashion” is online and ready to be listened to. One of the experts in the episode is tech and media analyst Benedict Evans, who discusses how he expects consumers to form new habits.
Vogue’s new podcast is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. So listen to it there and follow if you like what you hear. But if after a while you realize that you’re just more of a reader, don’t worry. There’s always the “normal” Technology Edit by Vogues Business newsletter.
