This Dyson EV would surely blow the competition away

When it comes to vacuum cleaners Dyson is at the top of the food chain. Its vacuums look sleek and have the power to match the design. So what if Dyson would make an EV? The company actually did have plans for an electric car, but ultimately chose not to pursue them. If they had though, could it have looked something like this?

Dyson 3D mashup

Although Dyson decided to back out of their EV-plans (and we were so hoping to see a vacuuming car), designer Graham Hutchings didn’t let that stop him from envisioning the car anyway. The design looks like what you would get if Dyson vacuums were secretly Transformers and decided to become a car.

It’s a 3D mashup of different Dyson parts. At the front of the car you’ll find an engine-cooling air-intake that looks a lot like the company’s Airblade hand-blower. You can also spot Dyson’s ball vacuum wheels to get things rolling and a rear exhaust inspired by the iconic multi-cylinder design. Other vacuum elements are the Supersonic hair dryer inspired rear view mirrors and the headlights that borrow from Dyson’s Bladeless fan.

Nothing like the real thing

Of course the real Dyson EV wouldn’t have looked anything like this, but we can dream right? The company did reveal the car they’d been working on last year. It was a sleek and minimalist looking prototype, that looked nothing like Hutchings’ design. But if we had to choose, we’d definitely go for the Transformers version.

Of course Dyson isn’t the only brand that makes powerful vacuums. This cordless vacuum cleaner by LG even does something no Dyson does. It actually empties itself.
