Electric bikes have become quite popular over the past few years. And while they were meant as an environmentally conscious alternative to cars, most of them aren’t really an adequate substitute. Dutch ebike company Van Moof is trying to fix that by giving its latest model some extra oomph. Meet the Van Moof hyperbike, the company’s very first high-speed ebike with speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph).
Usual Van Moof tech
The hyperbike sports Van Moof’s usual sleek style and signature tech. That means the bike is outfitted with a Turbo Boost button, automatic shifting and Theft Defence system through GPS-tracking. Also included is the company’s Kick Lock that let’s you lock the bike without a key.

Dual-motor ebike
The hyperbike can reach speeds beyond that of the usual range thanks to a dual-motor system. Both wheels feature a motor, while an intelligent controller enhances traction for safety and performance. The thicker tires, front and rear suspension, and new frame make it possible to travel longer distances.

There is a “but” though. Unfortunately the new electric bike isn’t for sale yet. At the moment reservations are possible with an invitation. For the rest of us, we’ll just have to wait till next year. Then we’ll be able to dash around on the hyperbike for 3,489 euros, which is about 3,947 USD.
Tip: This is the ebike Elon Musk would ride
