Skullcandy is known for its stylish headphones and the Crusher line in particular focuses on people that love their bass. We tested the latest Skullcandy Crusher Evo to see if the wireless headphones really deliver.

King of bass?

The first impression of the headphones is that they’re definitely very sleek. They come with a premium build and a high quality pouch to store them in. We tested the Crusher Evo with our favorite tunes and obviously some tracks with heavy bass. As not everyone enjoys the same level of deep tones the headphones have a slider on the left to adjust the bass levels. Of course we tried it on the highest setting and the only thing we can say is: yes the Crusher Evo definitely delivers when it comes to bass.

So the sensory bass of the headphones does what it’s supposed to and you can actually feel it going through your body. Of course not every song is made for the mind numbing bass and the headphones do hold up nicely when it comes to your normal listening experience. We do have to say that they’re clearly focused on delivering immersive bass, and there might be some room for improvement when it comes to your everyday listening experience.

Personal sound profile

The Skullcandy Crusher Evo does come with some really nice specs, such as the personal sound feature. You can use the accompanying app to create a personal sound profile, which allows the headphones to automatically adjust the levels to your preferences. The battery life is also very decent as you get 40 hours of listening time with a full charge. And when the battery does get dangerously low you get an extra 4 hours with a quick 10 minute charge.

Find my headphones

Then there’s the built-in Tile Finding Technology, which is very handy if you tend to misplace things. You can use the Tile app to “ring” the headphones and go on a quick quest to find them again. Another thing that’s very handy is the ability to collapse and flat-fold the headphones. That way they barely take up any space and fit nicely in your bag.

Overall we would definitely say the Skullcandy Crusher Evo is the king of bass. The headphones come in two color options: true black and Chill grey and retail for 200 USD.
