Have you always dreamt of styling supermodels with way out of your budget designer pieces and professional hair and make-up? Dream no more, there’s an app that can make your fantasies come true. Meet Drest: the interactive luxury styling game you know you want to try.
Real high fashion models
Obviously there are a ton of styling games out there, but Drest has a few things that give the app a leg up on the competition. First off you get to play dress up with real high fashion models, such as Doutzen Kroes, Irina Shayk, Imaan Hammam and Natalia Vodianova. The makers have thought about us mortals though and as not everyone has a supermodel body, you can also choose avatars with real human world sizes. That way you can also play around with looks for yourself. And that’s quite handy as Drest also offers players the opportunity to shop the products directly through the app.
Gucci, Valentino, Prada and more
Another thing that sets Drest apart is the fact that you can style away with real high-end fashion pieces. Think Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, Valentino and Prada to name a few brands featured in the app. And although randomly styling fabulous models is fun, what makes the app even more fun are the daily challenges. Every day different challenges will appear in the app with the opportunity to win virtual and even real-life rewards. And don’t worry about getting bored with the same old looks. Drest aims to update the app as often as possible to give players access to the new season collections. And if that’s not enough inspiration you also get daily interactive fashion news to stay up to speed.
Drest was created by Lucy Yeomans, former editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar UK and global content director of Net-a-Porter. To Yeomans gaming and fashion are very similar as “they’re both all about entering a fantastical universe, assuming a personality, and using pieces, whether it’s a potion or a Chanel jacket, to make you invisible or invincible”. We agree and have already been styling away. If you want to join us get Drest in the App Store. It doesn’t look like there’s an Android app yet, but we’re pretty sure it will be available soon.
Another place you’ll find designer gear for your avatar and yourself is Snapchat. Earlier this year Ralph Lauren paired up with Snap to give you and your Bitmoji matching looks.
