Since the dawn of time humans seem to have had the need to express themselves visually. It all started with crude drawings in caves and nowadays we’ve evolved to quite realistic looking digital creations. To bring our creativity to the real word we created the 3D printer. And if you really want to transform your 3D models into worthy artifacts to glamify your home, the team behind Cerambot claims to have just the thing.

Ceramic 3D printer

Cerambot is indeed a 3D printer, but doesn’t leave you with a plastic version of the 3D model you created with your own blood sweat and tears (yes sometimes it can be very frustrating to get that model just perfect). Instead of plastics Cerambot uses clay to give you a ceramic real life object.

More affordable

Now of course ceramic 3D printers aren’t new, but so far they have been fairly expensive. According to the makers of Cerambot, the printer is the most affordable ceramic option on the market today. Truth be told, we haven’t checked out every single ceramic 3D printer out there, but Cerambot does seems to come at a reasonable price.

Faster with game-changing motor

Apart from being the most affordable ceramic 3D printer, the makers have some more claims. The first one being that the device is 20 percent fast than other ceramic printers. The printer would also come equipped with a game-changing motor design. Where a lot of ceramic printers use an air compressor, there is a Cerambot Pro version that can be used right out of the box without any such compressor. Users would only need to attach the extruder to the printer body and fill the cartridge with clay (clay that you might even find in your own back yard).

Software wise the device is compatible with most of the populair open source slicing options for FDM 3D printers, like Curea, Clic3r and RepetierHost. With a simple drag-and-drop action you should be able to get your 3D models ready for action.

And the price?

Cerambot started out as a Kickstarer project and can now be purchased through the official website. The cheapest option is the Cerambot Air, that will set you back 599 dollars. As mentioned before there’s also a Pro version that eliminates any hustle with an air compressor and for 699 dollars it can be yours. If you want to kick it up a notch you could also go for the Cerambot Bio. This 3D printer enables you to play around with dozens of biological materials, such as, hydrogels, cells and zirconia.
