We’ve all been there at one point or another. It’s usually when you’re really in the mood for a nice cold drink, that you find yourself having to settle for a lukewarm beer or glass of wine. Or worse, having to wait for an eternity until your beverage is finally ready to get going. Well it looks like the guys over at Matrix definitely know what we’re talking about. The company just announced their Juno cooler to take care of the problem in minutes.
Cooler for just about any drink
Matrix set out to create a product that would “quickly and conveniently chill both white AND red wine to sommelier-recommended temperatures”. The result is the Juno cooler, that can chill a whole lot more than just wine. From what we’ve heard the device is able to cool any drink from a can of soda to a bottle of champagne in record time.

And by record time we mean RECORD time. Got a 12 ounce can of beer at room temperature? Juno should be able to transform it into a replenishing cold drink in just two minutes. If the problem is a lukewarm bottle of wine, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. But not much longer, as the device should have it chilled in five measly minutes while you do your last make-up check.

Technological magic
It almost sounds like magic, but its solid tech that gets the job done. The Matrix Juno cooler combines a thermoelectric cooling (TEC) engine with a proprietary mixing mechanism to make the magic happen. And if you’re worried about possible negative consequences for the environment, don’t be. The system does not make use of any chemicals or harmful refrigerants to get you your well deserved cold drink.
“In the past, the Matrix team was focused on capturing waste heat to harvest usable energy in devices like PowerWatch, but with Juno, we’ve leveraged our thermoelectric engineering expertise and proprietary technology to create a TEC engine that removes heat in the fastest way possible” – Matrix co-founder and CTO Douglas Tham
Get cooling
Matrix recently revealed Juno at this years CES conference, but if you want to get a hold of the cooler you could head over to Indiegogo. The company launched a project on the crowd-sourcing site a while back, where you can still enjoy the early bird price of about 200 dollars. Might that be a bit too expensive for a cooler? Well that all depends on how much you enjoy your cool beverages and how often you forget that you actually have a fridge.
