A lot of things we use seem to be designed with the idea that they should simply be replaced at some point. What happens when your computer mouse doesn’t work anymore? You get a new one, right? According to British brand Lunar Artefacts the answer is a resounding “no”. The company created a unique mouse designed to perform for a lifetime and develop character over time.
The mouse is simply called Pointer Instrument and comes in a number of different variations. What they all have in common are details that are endlessly replaceable and the simplicity of repairability. The handheld device is designed to prove its value over time and to ripen as you use it.
Brass, aluminium, and calf leather
That in itself isn’t something you see all too often, but what makes the Pointer Instrument truly stand out is its looks. The mouse is inspired by the artistry of automotive lines and meticulously hand-crafted inside and out. It comes with either a brass or aluminium shell with French calf leather finishing things off. And it’s this leather that gives the thing its graceful ageing process. As you use the peripheral it develops scuffs and abrasions. This deepens the colors and gradually adds a layer of personality. The two different shells each have a different weight, making the mouse perfect for users who prefer a light touch as well as people who like a little weight while swinging around.

Specifications
As for the specs, there are two charging modes. You could either go for Qi wireless charging or just use your good old USB-C charging cable. To connect the Artefacts Mouse to your device, simply use the included 2.4G dongle, or connect through Bluetooth or USB-C. Check out the different variations on the official Lunar Artifacts website. The price varies from 214 USD to 276 USD.
