For the past couple of years more and more big designers have been trying to incorporate tech into their garments. Unfortunately that doesn’t always translate to an elegant piece of clothing. The French fashion company Spinali Design however keeps the focus on glamour. And that’s why their smart dresses are actually pieces of clothing you want to wear on a night out.

Smart dresses and skirts

At the moment Spinali has a line of nine smart dresses, ranging from simple to glamorous and sexy. The company also has a few different skirts to choose from with the same features as the connected dresses.

Seven features

The dresses and skirts are outfitted with a sensor, applied discreetly in the lower right part of the garments. This sensor connects to the iOS or Android app on your phone and enables you to play with seven different functions. We’re not entirely sure what some of the functions listed on the website actually do, so your guess is as good as ours. For example one of the features is the ability to reassure your loved ones through a simple press of the sensor and another feature lets you play mischievous games with our partner.

A features that seems quite handy is one that reminds you to pack your dress when you’re going on a trip and another function helps you remember where and when you wore your smart dress before (because you obviously can’t be seen in the same place with the same dress twice). Then there is another feature that helps you meet people and the dress actually gives you fashion advice as well.

Price and availability

If you want to give it a go, the smart dresses are available for purchase on the Spinali Design website. They retail for 339 dollars and while you’re there, why not also check out the 233 dollar connected skirts.

And if you’re really serious about connected clothing, these smart pajama’s might just be something you absolutely need. They were revealed at CES earlier this year and are supposed to keep you safe while you sleep.
