Now that the summer has officially started it’s time to catch some leisurely days in the garden and enjoy the sunshine (with protection). One common annoyance of hanging outside though is that at some point your phone and speakers run out of energy. ShadeCraft seeks to take care of this problem once and for all with the Suntable: a solar table with a wireless charger and built-in JBL speakers.

Use the sun, or not

Suntable has a sleek design and looks like a techy poolside table. The tabletop is outfitted with solar panels that charge the built-in battery. Fully charging the device should take about 4 hours in the sun, however a cloudy day doesn’t have to be a deal breaker. There’s also a handy charging port and that means you could use the table inside as well.

Charging table

As mentioned before you can use Suntable to charge your mobile devices. Beneath the tabletop is a dedicated spot for your phone or tablet with a built-in wireless charger. And because the charger is underneath the tabletop your devices are protected against the sun, which is great as you don’t want those lithium-ion batteries sunbathing. Don’t worry if your smartphone doesn’t support wireless charging though. You could also use a good old USB-cable to get the job done.

JBL Bluetooth speakers

And while your phone is just laying about, why not use it to play some music? No need to go back inside to get a portable speaker, because the solar table already has one with Sound by JBL. A few even, that are arranged to offer 360 degrees of audio.

Kickstarter project

ShadeCraft’s Suntable is a Kickstarter project and for a pledge of 349 USD the solar table can be yours. It seems it’s a highly coveted object as the company reached its Kickstarter goal in 4 measely hours. But as always be cautious with crowdfunding campaigns.

While you’re enjoying the outside life, a refreshing drink might not be a bad idea. This handy device turns your lukewarm beverages into cool refreshments within minutes.
