If you want a fresh feed of news every day about the things or people that interest you, Twitter is one of the places you can get that itch scratched. Up until now users had to implement a workaround to get tweets about specific topics however. Fortunately that annoyance now belongs to the past. All Twitter users can follow specific topics without any hassle.

Available for all

We mention that all Twitter users can now use the feature, because mid-august some users already noticed the possibility to follow topics instead of users or hashtags. That was Twitter testing the new feature on a select group of people. The company has now announced that the feature is available for all to use and make life a little bit easier.

Follow Twitter topics

The company explains the process of following a specific topic in the above video. Say for example you want to be up to speed about everything fashion, Twitter will show you the top tweets of what’s happening in the world of ever changing trends. That means you’ll get to see tweets, people and events related to fashion, even if you don’t actually follow the associated accounts.

The right amount of tweets

Of course it’s also possible to unfollow a certain topic if you’ve had enough of it or don’t find the tweets relevant enough. Twitters however promises to give you “the right amount” of posts, so hopefully users won’t get buried under a mountain of tweets.
