In this time of self isolation and social distancing a lot of us are missing our friends and family. And of course you could send a message or even video chat, but sometimes words from afar just don’t cut it. Every once in a while you need that little bit of extra love you get from a hug or kiss. Or maybe from a warm lamp lighting up your room to let you know they’re thinking of you. Filimin’s friendship lamps are created for just such an occasion.

Connected lamps

The friendship lamps look aesthetically pleasing and are obviously meant to be used in pairs. The system is quite simple: the Filimin lamps are connected and when one of them is touched both will light up. The second lamp can be anywhere on the globe with an internet connection and this way you can subtly feel connected to whoever has the other lamp.

One for every family member

If you have more than one friend or family member you’d like to send some illuminated love, it’s possible to connect more than one friendship lamp to your own. You’ll probably end up with a multiple of two though, as they’re usually sold in pairs.

Hundreds of colors

A nice feature is that you can play around with hundreds of colors. So you could for example assign a different color to each friend and when you touch your device, your friend’s lamp will light up with your color of choice. Of course you could also get more creative and start a color war or look into some Morse code messages.

If you want to try it out you can get a pair of lamps on Amazon for 170 dollars. And even if you don’t end up using the connective feature, they’re nice lamps to just have around the room (albeit a bit expensive for “just” lamps).
