Over the years we’ve seen devices going from small to big and back to small again. Nowadays we seem to want to best of both worlds: light and portable devices with big screens. So companies like Samsung have come up with foldable displays. Designer Heeseung Choi has a slightly different take on things though. Meet the Clutop, a clutch that unfolds into a small laptop.
World’s smallest laptop
The refreshing Clutop comes with a stylish design and can actually be carried around like a clutch. According to Heeseung it’s the world’s smallest laptop, which makes you wonder how big the thing really is. But unfortunately we can’t find any info on how big it is exactly.
What we do know is that the display has an aspect ratio of 16:9. And when you transform the Clutop into its clutch form you get a body ratio of 1:2. The keyboard comes with a trackpad on the one side and an extra UI on top for your multitasking activities. That could come in handy for widgets and volume controls.
Now of course a clutch has to come in multiple colors and fortunately that is indeed the case with the Clutop. You can go for a nice sleek gray or black to go with all your outfits. For the adventurous ones among us there’s also a blue or green version.
For now the Clutop is still a concept, but we do hope it goes into production soon. As the world’s first foldable laptop is now a fact, it might also be time for some more fashionable designs. Until then we’ll just have to work with smart handbags that keep out phones charged and protect our credit cards.
